What is Actually 'One Piece" ? Theory behind the mystery of the Greatest Treasure
The nature of the "One Piece" treasure remains one of the greatest mysteries in the One Piece series. While the treasure itself hasn't been revealed yet (as of my last knowledge update), there are numerous theories and clues about what it might be. Here’s a breakdown of some of the most plausible possibilities, along with my interpretation of what "One Piece" could truly be.
Clues about the "One Piece":
Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom:
Joy Boy was an important figure from the Void Century who left behind a message on the Poneglyphs. The Ancient Kingdom, which Joy Boy might have been a part of, seems to have had some revolutionary ideas about freedom and unity. The fact that Luffy and other characters connected to the D. clan share similar ideals points to the "One Piece" being tied to this ancient history.
The Laugh Tale island is where the One Piece is said to be located, and it's the final destination of Gol D. Roger. After reaching Laugh Tale, Roger and his crew learned about the true history, including the story of Joy Boy and the Ancient Kingdom. They found something there that made them laugh, and this clue implies that the One Piece might be more than just material wealth.
Whitebeard's Words:
Before his death, Whitebeard said that the One Piece is real and that finding it will "turn the world upside down." This suggests that the treasure has the power to fundamentally change the world, likely by revealing the truth about the Void Century and the World Government's lies. It's something so significant that it could topple the current power structure.
Roger’s Reaction:
When Gol D. Roger and his crew reached the One Piece, they reportedly laughed, indicating that the treasure might not be just gold or riches. It seems to carry some ironic or deeper meaning that only those who know the full history would understand.
Roger’s Naming of "One Piece":
Roger himself is believed to have named the treasure "One Piece," as stated by Rayleigh. The term "One Piece" could imply unity or wholeness—perhaps a reference to uniting the world, or a physical object that completes the story of the Ancient Kingdom.
Possible Theories about the One Piece
The True History and the Will of D.:
One of the most widely accepted theories is that the One Piece is the full, unfiltered truth about the Void Century and the Ancient Kingdom. This would include the reason for the war between the Ancient Kingdom and the 20 nations that formed the World Government, the significance of the D. clan, and the purpose of the Poneglyphs.
If this information were to be revealed, it would change the world by exposing the World Government’s oppressive reign and possibly lead to a new era of freedom, which aligns with Luffy’s and Joy Boy's ideals.
A Concept of Unity or Peace:
The term One Piece could signify the idea of bringing the world together as one. It could be something that leads to the unification of all people, breaking down the barriers between the different races and islands (like Fish-Man Island, Sky Island, and the Red Line). This would fit with the recurring theme of unity and breaking down societal divisions throughout the series.
In this sense, the "One Piece" could represent a world without borders, where all races and species live in harmony, free from the control of the World Government.
The Ancient Weapon Uranus:
Another possibility is that the One Piece could be the Ancient Weapon Uranus. Since we know that Poseidon (Shirahoshi) and Pluton are already known elements in the series, Uranus, the third Ancient Weapon, could be tied to the One Piece. If Uranus has the power to reshape the world, it could serve as the key to either destroying or creating a new world order.
This would also align with the concept of Whitebeard's claim that the One Piece has the power to "turn the world upside down."
A Physical Treasure:
While many believe the One Piece is more symbolic or historical, it's possible that it could also include a physical treasure. After all, Roger was a pirate, and the title of Pirate King would traditionally imply the discovery of great wealth. However, the treasure could be more than just gold—it might be a technological marvel from the Ancient Kingdom or something that allows the bearer to control the Ancient Weapons.
A physical treasure, combined with the truth of the Void Century, could be a means of challenging the World Government’s authority.
The Destruction of the Red Line:
There’s also speculation that Luffy will destroy the Red Line, connecting all the seas and fulfilling Fish-Man Island’s prophecy. By doing this, All Blue—the legendary sea where all fish from the four oceans meet—would be created, and the world would be connected as "one piece." In this theory, the One Piece would be the unification of the world's seas and peoples.
The destruction of the Red Line would also eliminate Mary Geoise, the center of the World Government’s power.
My Interpretation of the One Piece:
From my perspective, One Piece is likely a combination of:
The Truth About the Void Century: The One Piece includes the hidden history of the world, which reveals the corruption of the World Government and the ancient war between the Ancient Kingdom and the 20 nations.
A Symbol of Unity: The name "One Piece" hints at the unification of the world, breaking down the barriers between islands, races, and people. Luffy, as Joy Boy's spiritual successor, will likely play a key role in achieving this unity, fulfilling Joy Boy’s will.
The Liberation of the World: The treasure represents freedom, not just in terms of individual liberty, but freedom from the oppression of the World Government, and the dawn of a new age where people live without fear or tyranny.
I believe the One Piece will be a culmination of both tangible and intangible elements—combining knowledge, ideals, and possibly a great physical artifact that allows the world to change.
What do you think the One Piece could be?
